eQuill Studio is an independent digital publisher registered in Selangor, Malaysia. We commission original work, edit and typeset it ourselves, and sell it straight to the people who read it. Nothing is printed, nothing is shipped, and nothing ever goes out of stock.

Everything on these shelves was made for them. We do not resell other people's catalogues and we do not licence in filler to pad a list. Each title is commissioned to a brief, written under one of our own bylines, then edited, typeset, proofed and given a cover before it goes on sale.

Because the whole road from a commission to a finished file runs through one house, that road is short. Three to five new titles reach the catalogue in a usual week, which means there is always something here you have not read yet, and a series does not leave you waiting a year for what happens next. What we publish, where the catalogue goes and how readers are treated are decided here in Selangor, and always will be.

What we make

Our fiction line covers novellas, short story collections and serialised work, much of it rooted in Southeast Asian settings and voices. Our guides are practical and habit based, on subjects like drawing, writing and creative work. And our interactive line is where publishing meets gaming, with choose your path stories and games that live entirely inside a book.

We are open to collaborations with authors, illustrators, translators, educators and distribution platforms.
