A deliberately false or misleading claim is a serious matter, not a formality. Knowingly making a false statement in order to have lawful material removed, or to misrepresent who owns a work, may expose you to civil liability for the losses and legal costs it causes, and in some circumstances to criminal liability. In Malaysia this touches the Copyright Act 1987 and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and equivalent laws apply in most other countries.
We keep a permanent record of every report, including the date and time, the network address it was sent from, everything you type here and every file you attach. Where a claim concerns a specific work, we may pass your report in full, including your identity and contact details, to the author or rights holder affected by it, to our legal advisers, and to a court or authority where we are required or entitled to do so.
If you are not the owner of the rights concerned, or someone properly authorised to act for the owner, please do not file a copyright claim. Use one of the other categories above, or simply contact us and we will help.
By sending this form you agree that we may store and process these details for the purpose of handling your report, as set out in our privacy policy.
