It keeps
A card you paid for never runs out. Not after five years, not after three, not at all. There is no dormancy fee, no service fee and no fee of any other name, so it is worth on the day it is spent exactly what you paid for it.
The change stays
If the book costs less than the card, the difference stays on it for next time rather than disappearing. If it costs more, the card covers what it can and they pay the rest.
It arrives by email
No post, no waiting. The card reaches them as soon as your payment clears, with your message on it, and we send you your own copy of the code to keep or to print.
You can follow it
Sign in and Your gift cards shows what is left on every card you have bought, and when it was spent. Nothing to chase and nobody to ask.
A word about codes
We hand out promotional codes from time to time, usually a percentage off during a sale. Those are free, they can expire and they are not gift cards, which is why we never call them that. A gift card is something somebody paid for, and it plays by stricter rules. Both go in the same box at the payment step, and we will tell you which one you have used.
Anyone holding a card code can spend it, in the same way that anyone holding a banknote can spend it, so please treat it as cash. The full terms are here.
