About this book

Bo is eight, and she spends her holidays at the railway station, because that is where her Uncle Otto works, in the most interesting room in the city: the Office of Lost Things, behind the little door under the big clock. Umbrellas live there, and gloves, and teddies, and notebooks, and one tuba, waiting on numbered shelves to be found back. Uncle Otto is the Keeper, and he has one rule and three questions. The rule is: nothing here is lost, it is only waiting. And the questions, which he asks every object that comes in, are the Keeper's Three: Who loved you? Who needs you? And where were you going? Because a lost thing, says Uncle Otto, always knows the way back to its person. You just have to be polite enough to ask.
